Mike Tyson is a legendary name in boxing. He has held the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles in the heavyweight championship category. Today, let's look at the titan's first-ever knockout of his boxing career!
'Iron Mike' Tyson's journey began when he was discovered in a juvenile detention center as a child. He was then sent to train with Cus D'Amato, with the assistance of Teddy Atlas and Kevin Rooney.
At the age of 13, after spending a few months learning his craft, Mike Tyson had his first real experience in the boxing ring.
On his podcast 'THE FIGHT,' Atlas stated that he brought Tyson to the Bronx smokers when he was prepared for his fight. As there was no one of Tyson's age to fight him, he was pitted against a 17 year old.
As per Atlas, Tyson knocked out the 17 year old within a minute. Tyson entered the ring and delivered a powerful left hook, causing the opponent's head to twist backward, his body limp, and eventually falling outside the ring.
As Tyson's punch connected, the opponent's mouthpiece was sent flying, landing approximately 20 feet away in someone's lap. Such was the first ever knockout delivered by Mike Tyson.
