John Fury, the father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, continues to be at loggerheads with his son's head trainer, SugarHill Steward. Let's take a look at their recent disagreement!
Earlier this year, Tyson Fury engaged in discussions with Oleksandr Usyk regarding a potential fight. In fact, some clips of 'The Gypsy King' training in his gym were shared on social media.
However, Fury's trainer, SugarHill Steward, later refuted claims of preparing Fury specifically for the Oleksandr Usyk fight.
While discussing with Oleksandr Usyk, Steward prioritized Lawrence Okolie due to Okolie's scheduled fight against David Light. As per Steward, "“I’m here for Lawrence. Tyson was in the gym with us, but I didn’t train Tyson. We didn’t do anything like with Usyk."
Calling him a snake, John Fury accused Steward of lying when he said he wasn't training Tyson. As per Fury, "He had no need to say that; I’m waiting to see him to his face to tell him it’s a lie."
According to John Fury, 'The Gypsy King,' who is gearing up for a bout against Francis Ngannou, is fully capable and doesn't need "expensive trainers" around him. John even made a hyperbolic remark, saying, "A pigeon could train Tyson; he's that good, honestly."
