A new statistic emerged about F1 that for the last 14 years, the team which has led the constructor’s championship after the Hungarian GP has gone and won the title that year. For the last 8 years, it has been Mercedes leading the pack, but with 13 rounds completed in the 2022 season, Red Bull is the team dominating the standings.
Under the new rules and regulations, the 8-time constructor winners, Mercedes has fallen behind in the pecking order, resulting in a title battle between Ferrari and Red Bull. Although the Italians have a car that can win races week in and week out, they have failed to make the most of their opportunities and have dropped the ball frequently.
Another important aspect of the raging bull’s triumph is that both sides of the garage are scoring big points consistently. The defending world champion, Max Verstappen is P1 with a haul of 258 points, while Sergio Perez is P3 with 173 points. The drivers are working together as a unit and are helping the team to bring home the title this year.
