Charles Leclerc Hilariously Not Identified After his Famous Monza Win

"He won in Spa, and he wins in Monza!" Charles Leclerc, a promising star for Ferrari, was described in these famous words by David Croft, and they will live on forever in history books. After nearly a decade of losing races at home, Leclerc, who was already a star, won his second race in the 2019 Italian GP. However, a humorous event with an unknowing cab driver occurred after he claimed Monza.

Making a dream a reality 


It was a Tifosi dream which the boy from Monaco brought to life when he took the checkered flag in front of hundreds of Tifosi. The highlight was the hope of bringing glory back. And this victory at the GP had moved everyone in perhaps every corner of Italy. One of them was the cabbie who was ferrying Leclerc after his win.


The missing link for Charles Leclerc’s success identified


2007 was the last time a Ferrari driver took home the championship. Last year Charles Leclerc came close to recreating that glory but only for the first few races of the season and soon it all came tumbling down like a house of cards.  And while there have been many conjectures on why Ferrari is the choker, an ex-aide of Maranello has probably identified the reason.

A funny leclerc story 

Talking to F1 Nations Podcast Italian journalist Roberto Chinchero said, “There was a funny story about that Sunday. I remember Charles booked a cab to go to the dinner after the Monza podium. The cab driver couldn’t see him and this man said, ‘Hey, have you been to the Grand Prix today? That young boy, the Ferrari driver, looks a very special one’. Charles said, ‘Yes, he looks good.—I am that guy’.”
