After a difficult 2022 season, F1 star Daniel Ricciardo emphasised that he needs a break from the sport. The Australian's contract with McLaren was terminated earlier this year, and he will leave the organization at the end of this season.
As rumors swirled for weeks, he confirmed in Japan he will not be part of the grid next season. Ricciardo admitted he welcomes the year off to rest and recharge after an underwhelming season where he sits just 12th in the drivers standings.
“You will see me around. It’s going to look different for me, but there’s still very much so a plan in place. So it’s not that I’m checking out and saying see you later. It’s far from that,” said Ricciardo.
