The controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi GP

Hamilton and Verstappen were tied in points, as they were on the final few laps of the race. However, a safety car was deployed with Hamilton in P1 and Max in P2. They were separated by 5 lapped cars; however, Michael Masi, the then-Race Director, allowed those lapped cars to unlap themselves, which gave Verstappen a chance to go at Hamilton with new soft tires. In the end, Verstappen overtook Hamilton to win the championship. The Mercedes team and Hamilton looked visibly upset by Masi’s decision.

Muhammed Ben Sulayem’s contradictory statements

Although F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali assured that no more than 10 teams would take part in the sport, FIA president, Ben Sulayem’s recent comments contradict that statement. He said, “There are still regulations there and we cannot shut the application down and say no because we have another choice and we cannot also say no to them if they fulfill the application. Also, we’re not breaking the rules.” However, fans showed their displeasure, as #F1xed and #AbuDhabiScandal were trending on Twitter again.
