Stroll’s journey as an F1 driver

In 2017, Stroll started his F1 career with the Williams. Before that, he already made a name for himself in F4 and F3. Safe to say, he already has plenty of experience in F1. After Williams, he joined Racing Point and currently, he is driving for Aston Martin.

Is Alonso’s stellar season putting extra pressure on Stroll?

Last year, Stroll’s partner was 4-time World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, who had a pretty good season compared to Stroll. This season, Alonso completely outclassed him, as he had 5 podium finishes out 6 races. On the other hand, Stroll only had 1 top-5 finish. Safe to say, Alonso’s season is putting extra pressure on Stroll.

Is Stroll holding back Aston Martin?

Notably, Stroll’s father, Lawrence Stroll is the owner of the Aston Martin F1 team. He certainly has the vision to compete with Red Bull for championships in the future. Alonso is pretty much keeping them alive this season. But Stroll is keep having disappointing results, which could hamper their chances in the constructors' championship.

Can Lawrence fire his own son?

No doubt, Lawrence has a long-term plan with Aston Martin and he wants his 24-year-old son to be part of the plan. If Stroll doesn’t improve his performance, it will be difficult for them to keep Stroll. However, it will be extremely difficult for Lawrence to fire his own son, but he may have to take the hard decision if he wants to keep his dream alive.
