Aston Martin are finally coming out of Mercedes’ shadows

Lawrence Stroll invested around $250,000,000 to build a new factory at Silverstone. Notably, Mercedes are supplying their power unit to Aston Martin right now. While Mercedes could view this as a betrayal, Aston Martin could focus on optimizing their production and analytical capabilities, which could help them in the long term.

Aston Martin boss opens up about the new factory

Aston Martin boss Mike Krack believes the new factory could give them a competitive edge over other teams. He said, “If you can make things cheaper and faster, it means you can make more. You can have one or two more upgrades than before due to time and financial reasons.

Is there a big disadvantage in making a new factory?

Marc Surer, an F1 analyst recently said, “We have such a full program in Formula 1… all the analyzes and all the processing and also the parts production [...] must go on non-stop… For me, the move of the factory is a huge disadvantage for them.” As per him, it could disrupt their rhythm and process.
