7-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton did not have a great start to this season. Moreover, he has parted ways with his long-time partner and his physiotherapist, Angela Cullen. This could be one of the reasons for his inconsistencies this season. Meanwhile, he recently talked about Cullen and how he is dealing with her absence from the team.
In 2016, Hamilton hired Cullen to be his physiotherapist. Before that Hamilton had 3 Championships. Since hiring the New Zealander, he has won 4 F1 Championships. Certainly, she has done an amazing job keeping Hamilton both mentally and physically fit. Unfortunately, Hamilton announced her departure from the team after 7 years before this year’s Saudi Arabian GP.
Hamilton took to Instagram and announced the news, as he wrote, “For the last seven years @cullen_angela has been by my side, pushing me to be the best version of myself. I am a stronger athlete and a better person because of her. So today I hope you’ll join me in wishing her the very best as she takes her next steps to pursue her dreams. Thank you for everything Ang, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.”
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, the Mercedes driver said, “I miss her every day.” Talking about staying in touch with her, he said, “Always looking forward to the next fun adventure, whether it be skydiving, whether it be climbing Mount Everest together at some stage.” He further said, “She’s the single hardest-working woman that I get to be around.”
