Lewis Hamilton Ready to Make a Major Sacrifice for his Top Gun Dream with Tom Cruise

Hollywood legend, Tom Cruise produced one of the biggest movies of 2022, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, which was a sequel to the original ‘Top Gun’ movie, released in 1986. Notably, 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton got an opportunity to play a role in the sequel. Unfortunately, his professional commitment did not let him play a part in the movie. Now, he is willing to put his team and the sport at risk in order to act with Tom Cruise.

Hamilton’s desire to be in the ‘Top Gun’ movie

When Tom Cruise announced the sequel to ‘Top Gun’, Hamilton requested Cruise about playing a role in the movie. Hamilton said, “When I heard the second one was coming out, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I have to ask him…I don’t care what role it is. I’ll even sweep something, be a cleaner in the back.”

Hamilton’s missed opportunity

Eventually, Hamilton got the part of a pilot in that movie, but he could not commit to it because he was competing in the 2021 Championship. He called Cruise to reject the offer, as he said, “The most upsetting call that I think I’ve ever had.”

Hamilton talks about being in movies

“No, not really, I don’t really have any desire to be in front of the camera, but there may be an element in it where maybe I’ll slot in and play a small cameo, but at the moment that’s not the plan,” Hamilton recently said. As per reports, Hamilton is part of a $140 million Apple movie project starring Brad Pitt.

Hamilton not missing an opportunity to act with Tom Cruise again

“I’ll wait for my proper movie debut because I’m going to need to train and practice because I don’t want to suck at it… If Top Gun 3 ever happens, I’m going to be in it, and I will miss a race for it, just so you know. I’m not going to give up that chance next time,” Hamilton recently said.
