Lewis Hamilton’s Special Guest Neymar Jr. Commits Fatal Error to Force FIA to Investigate Alarming Safety Concern

Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr. has been visiting a lot of F1 races lately, as he was last seen at the Spanish GP as Lewis Hamilton’s special guest. Notably, Neymar and Hamilton have been really good friends for a long time. Unfortunately, the soccer player’s appearance in Barcelona caused a bit of controversy, which forced the FIA to take some action.

Neymar and Hamilton’s relationship


The duo first met at the 2016 Copa América Centenario tournament. Since then, they have become really great friends. However, Neymar has been a Red Bull supporter. In the recent race at Monaco, he showed his support for Red Bull. However, he has always been a great supporter of his friend Hamilton. 




Neymar’s recent appearance at the Spanish GP



Neymar recently appeared at the Spanish GP as Hamilton’s special guest. The British driver even offered Neymar to sit in his W14 and the soccer player could not miss his first-time opportunity. He was also present during the formation lap. However, he stayed on the grass instead of going off the racetrack, which caused the FIA to take some strict action. 

FIA issued a statement regarding Neymar’s action


After Neymar’s actions, the FIA has hinted at a clampdown on pre-race grid access, as FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said, “We must take learnings from the incident at the Spanish Grand Prix. The FIA has been assured by Stefano Domenicali [F1 CEO] that measures are being taken to ensure that there is no repeat of the incident. It is the duty of the FIA to ensure a safe environment for all. Safety in motor sport is the Federation’s main priority.”
