What was the Sky Sports F1 Boycott by Max Verstappen & Red Bull?

Following some behind-the-scenes exchanges, Max Verstappen and Red Bull have halted their boycott of Sky F1. The two-time World Champion spoke out against Sky's "disrespectful" reporting of him during the Mexican Grand Prix weekend. This came when Ted Kravitz, a pitlane reporter for Sky, said that Lewis Hamilton had been "robbed" of the 2021 World Championship.

WHAT DID MAX VERSTAPPEN SAY IN MEXICO REGARDING THE SKY F1 REPORTING?

Ted Kravitz said that Hamilton was "robbed" of the 2021 championship at the US Grand Prix. The Milton Keynes team and Max Verstappen responded to this by expressing their discontent with the situation.

Max responded when questioned about the decision to boycott Sky: “This year it’s been a constant… yeah, kind of like daily being disrespectful, especially one particular person. And it’s enough, I don’t accept it.”

Max stated that he would eventually stop responding and just tolerate the insults. Even Christian Horner noted how such remarks from an authority figure like Kravitz don't represent fair and impartial reporting.

Max on the hate and disrespect

“You don’t have to enter into that dialogue live on the channel. People then watch, that’s not necessary at all.” Verstappen has been vocal about the persistent hate and disrespect he or anyone gets regarding the several fiascos that occurred in 2021.

END OF THE BOYCOTT

Verstappen and Red Bull have made the decision to stop this boycott just over two weeks after our relocation from Mexico City to Sao Paulo. The director of Sky Sports approached Red Bull for a dialogue, and Red Bull engaged Sky. To address the Dutchman's complaints, a behind-the-scenes, off-camera conversation was held.
