After Scheffler secured his first green jacket, the 43rd president of the United States of America sent a congratulatory letter to the World Number One (in the Official World Golf Rankings).
In the press conference on Wednesday, before the Zurich Classic starts, Scheffler made fun of Bush’s handwriting. Scottie said, “Yeah, his handwriting is really hard to read, if he listens to this. I hear he’s a good artist now. He’s got to do some work on his handwriting.”
Scheffler added, “To have someone like that to reach out just to congratulate me is pretty special. That’s probably kind of the only moments I’ve had where I kind of sit and reflect on what’s happened the past month and a half, two months. Obviously the Masters is such a different event than the rest of them. Just getting some messages like that from people I’ve looked up to for so long is really special.”
Apart from the former American President, other celebrities or stars also congratulated Scheffler. Other names included the famous Olympics swimmer Micheal Phelps and Ezekiel Elliott, who facilitated the 2022 Masters winner.
The American professional played superb golf throughout the four rounds. Moreover, Scottie hit some crisp irons shots, and his touch around the greens was genuinely applaudable. He won the 2022 Masters with an overall score of 10-under-par.
