3 Years After Their Ugly Breakup, Caroline Wozniacki Was Left Utterly Perplexed With Ex-Fiancee Rory McIlroy Over His Inability to ‘Move on’ From Their Relationship

Rory McIlroy is one of the most renowned golfers on the PGA Tour. The Northern Irish player has proven his loyalty to the tour several times. But his personal life has not been as great as his professional career. After he blatantly called off his wedding with his ex-fiancee, Caroline Wozniacki, she once stated that the golfer must move on.

Caroline Wozniacki made bold statements about Rory McIlroy after their breakup.

The golf world stood still when the former world number one called off his wedding over a phone call with Caroline Wozniacki. And after stepping back from the idea of marrying his girlfriend, McIlroy even made some strong confessions about his decision.

What did McIlroy say?

“The problem is mine,” he said. “The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails.”

Wozniacki decided to step in and say what was important.

“I don’t understand why he keeps bringing it up,” she said. “He looks like he’s doing well. And if he’s doing well, he must surely then look to move on.” The tennis star also said that her grief was a “little dead” now and it had been three years since their breakup.

Wozniacki deserved more than a phone call.

Shockingly, the golfer made up his mind to say no to the wedding after Wozniacki had mailed out wedding invites. During her interview about the incident, Wozniacki mentioned that she deserved a face-to-face conversation with the golf star. But all he did was make a phone call and never call again.

McIlroy’s clarification on his breakup with Wozniacki?

After canceling the wedding, McIlroy wished his ex-fiancee the best, and said that she deserved all the happiness in the world. He even took the blame for calling off the wedding and made no allegations against Wozniacki.
