After winning the John Deere Classic in 2017 with his maiden PGA Tour win, Bryson DeChambeau described it as a vindication of his technique. His technique involves using irons that are all the same length.
During an interview, he was asked if he felt that way after beating Byeong Hun An and Kyle Stanley in a playoff at Muirfield Village. Bryson replied and called the win validation. He said people always judge him and say he’s too technical.
Bryson was disappointed because he believed one shouldn’t judge anyone by looking at them. He said that people should think about the results of the actions and not just the cover. DeChambeau considers people by their work ethic and their dedication and perseverance that the person has.
Bryson said, “So whenever you look at somebody and say, oh, man, that dude’s weird, why is he doing that? He’s got these dumb one-length clubs that don’t work. Yeah, they do. I won last year and they work pretty well for me.”
Bryson DeChambeau, an 8-time winner of the PGA Tour, last month uploaded a 28-minute video onto YouTube in which he discussed his career in-depth. In the video, he mentioned how he wants to ignore his doctor’s advice and play at the Augusta National.
Bryson talked about how he was disappointed by his form and was letting everyone down. He said he could only be transparent about his health, and he sometimes gets embarrassed.
