What started off as a steamy scandal in 2006, didn’t last too long for Evert and Norman. ‘The Shark’ and Evert tied the knot two years after they each left their spouses for the other. But just 15 months into their marriage, the couple called it quits.
The power couple surprised many by announcing separation a year later. According to their close ones, the marriage struggled due to the lack of interactions with each other’s children from their past marriages.
The tennis star wasn’t pleased with her divorce at the time. She revealed after her divorce from Norman that she felt terrible about leaving her ex-husband, Andy Mills. She claimed that she was sad about breaking his heart and missed her family. “I miss my family time with Andy and the kids,” she said.
Evert also spoke up about what she missed about her relationship with the ex-golf pro. Much to the surprise of the fans, it wasn’t the time they spent together or the happy moments. It was his parents. She stated, “I also really miss Greg’s parents. The best part about him are his parents.”
Two years later, in June, the two were wed in the Bahamas and had an ecstatic start to their marriage. But only 15 months in, things took an ugly turn. Evert mentioned that the divorce was out of the blue. She said, “It wasn’t talked about, ever.”
Evert added on and said that she had never imagined it ending like this. “Never in a million years did I imagine it would end up like this.” The tennis great was certainly upset and was “hurt, angry and shamed” with how Norman had ended things.
Following his divorce from the Tennis legend, Greg Norman married interior designer Kirsten Kutner in 2010. The couple has been happily married ever since. However, Evert has remained unmarried after her separation from LIV Golf Commissioner.
