Being the LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman has been trying to recruit many top players to join the league. However, despite offering irresistible offers to them, many players, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm, have chosen not to sign with them and stay with the PGA Tour.
As a golf fan and a business tycoon, Donald Trump owns 15+ golf clubs worldwide. And his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster is going to host the LIV Golf Invitational Series’ third event that begins on July 29.
The LIV Golf Invitational Series is an eight-event golf league that features 48 players and 12 teams competing in a 54-hole tournament, with no cuts and shotgun starts.
The main highlight of the league is its purse money: a total of $255 million for the eight Series events. While $25 million is the purse offered for the first seven regular events, a whopping $50 million is up for grabs for the final team championship.
