LIV Golf Jeddah was a successful event, except there were no spectators. Brooks Koepka won the game by defeating Peter Uihlein in a playoff, but there were no fans to cheer for him. The number of people inside the ropes was more than the ones outside, and that includes the cameramen and staff.
Fans are not accepting the new league fully since it is acting as a threat to the PGA Tour. And despite all the efforts and arrangements made to accommodate hundreds of fans on the field, none turned up to watch their favorite golfers.
A Twitter user posted a picture from the field at the LIV Golf Jeddah event. The picture showed a huge space with only golfers and crew walking on the field, and no fans to witness the game. As soon as the picture was posted, fans began sending all kinds of mixed reactions from across the world.
While some of them called it “embarrassing” for LIV to host an event with no spectators, others thought it was “hilarious”. Some even said that LIV Golf was nothing but “a well-funded flop”.
Fans were right about the fact that LIV Golf hosting events with no spectators to watch might not be worth it. Some fans even doubted if the event actually happened since no one watched it. However, Greg Norman is trying his best to change the format of the game and make it more enjoyable for the fans.
