Recently, it was announced that Steve Stricker and Webb Simpson would join Fred Couples and Zach Johnson as assistant captains of the upcoming Presidents Cup. Although the others have some experience as captains or assistant captains before, it is the first time Simpson would get to hold such a position.

According to Webb Simpson, he was at his favorite hotdog joint in Wilmington, North Carolina, when he got the call from Woods. The golfer explained that he was stressed then as his children had made the owner mad as they kept opening the door.

Simpson revealed that he called the 2019 Presidents Cup captain back after he got out of the hotdog joint. And Woods informed him about his involvement with the 2022 Presidents Cup.

And Simpson is a member of the Quail Hollow. “I look forward to helping the guys with a bit of course knowledge,” Simpson said.
