Tiger Woods was out of golf for nearly nine months due to a serious injury that he sustained in a car accident in February 2021. Tiger made his comeback on to golf only for one event in December at the 2021 PNC Championship. The Genesis Invitational event is hosted every year by TGR Foundation, which is the primary charitable beneficiary of the event. Woods won't be competing at the event

Tiger’s fans will not see him compete at the event, but Woods will be there at the event as the host. He will hand over the trophy to the winner as well.
