The story goes back to 2015 when Gregory Silveira of La Quinta pleaded guilty to three counts of money laundering of funds from his unnamed gambling client between February 2010 and February 2013. According to reports, the gambling client was Mickelson.
“Money laundering of funds from P.M.” A reference to the initials P and M was given in the initial agreement signed by the defendant and his attorney. However, after the media started to investigate the initials, the U.S. Attorney’s Office filed a motion to amend the original plea. And “P.M.” was removed from the agreement the next day.
