2.5 weeks ago that the 82-time PGA Tour winner announced that he would be competing at the Genesis Invitational, driving the golf fans berserk. After all, it was the first time he was on the course at a regular Tour event after his unfortunate accident late in February 2021. In fact, the last time Woods played at a non-major Tour event was at the 2020 Zozo Championship.

“Hopefully this year I can get all four and maybe sprinkle in a few here and there,” Woods stated to the press after the Zozo championship. Along with his fifth green jacket, Woods also received a five-year exemption from The Players. Hence, despite being 984th in the world rankings, he can still be a part of the 144-player field at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium for the Mach.
