The legend has not played in a non major championship  event on the PGA tour in over two years. Yet the feeling of estacticness doesn't last long. Woods must make up his mind about the future of this season, for which he doesn't have long at all.

    2.5 weeks ago that the 82-time PGA Tour winner announced that he would be competing at the Genesis Invitational, driving the golf fans berserk. After all, it was the first time he was on the course at a regular Tour event after his unfortunate accident late in February 2021. In fact, the last time Woods played at a non-major Tour event was at the 2020 Zozo Championship.

    With his performance at the event too, Woods pleasantly surprised the fans. Despite his long break from the game and his persistent injuries, the golf legend managed to make the cut after the second round and end the game tied for 45th place with a score of 1 under par. And his return has been the talk of the town ever since!


 A MAJOR DECISION LIES AHEAD 

    It's been over a week since the Riviera event ended, and Woods faces a tough decision. The 47-year-old can no longer afford to live off the high of his previous performance, especially not with The Players Championship fast approaching. In fact, he needs to confirm his place on the field by 5 p.m. Friday. That’s just days away! And it’s surely bound to be an anxiety-filled week for the eager fans.


 IS WOODS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP?

 “Hopefully this year I can get all four and maybe sprinkle in a few here and there,” Woods stated to the press after the Zozo championship.
 Along with his fifth green jacket, Woods also received a five-year exemption from The Players. Hence, despite being 984th in the world rankings, he can still be a part of the 144-player field at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium for the Mach.
