‘Needs to Stop’: PGA Tour Gets Slammed Over ‘Creepy’ Charlie Woods Obsession

Despite being out of action, Tiger Woods still commands a huge fan following from around the world. But as he grows older, there is a sense of desperation as to who will replace the golf legend as the face of the sport. The PGA has made its efforts, and if current trends are to be believed, has already zeroed in on its next-generation superstar. However, it’s a choice not many fans like, with the player allegedly being Charlie Woods.

PGA Tour’s obsession with Charlie Woods.

Charlie Woods is currently contesting at the PNC Championship alongside his father, golf legend, Tiger Woods. The viewership is expected to be top-notch, given the event will be Woods’ second competitive appearance since July.

Is Charlie getting better than Tiger?

Woods has time and again conceded that his son, 13-year-old Charlie, has already out-driven him. Brief clips of the young boy’s swing, which were eerily similar to his father’s, have resulted in huge expectations.

Given the media fanfare, the PGA Tour decided to cash in.

PGA Tour shared a picture of Charlie Woods’ divot pattern on their Twitter account. For the unversed, a divot pattern is the form or shape of turf removed while hitting a tee shot.

While Charlie’s divot pattern indicated a perfectly linear pattern, the post came under fire.

Netizens claimed that the tour was obsessed with Tiger Woods’ son.
