Most golfers who are Norman’s age are currently playing on the Senior Tour. And among all his fellow golfing buddies including legend Jack Nicklaus, Norman was one of the best. However, despite his professional victories and memorable tournament performances, Norman chose a different path for himself. And here’s what he said about his decision.
“That’s why I never played on the senior tour because my priorities shifted. It was a quantum shift and a huge commitment to say, ‘I get it. It’s time,’” he said. He was around the age of 48 at the time and realized that his days of playing professional golf were over. But unlike his friends on the field, Norman didn’t want to officially announce his retirement in front of the world.

Most of his fans thought that Norman not retiring could mean he was thinking of joining senior golf. However, that was not his plan. Rather, he started putting all his focus on growing his business ventures, including LIV Golf. He also once admitted that he didn’t want to end up being known as a “hypocrite” if he retired and later joined the Senior Tour.
But today, golf fans are well aware of what Norman’s current focus is. Despite having all the talent and opportunities to be on the Senior Tour, the golf legend is adamant to take LIV Golf forward. And with Saudi’s petrodollars on his back, finances are not a problem for the golf ace.

So many players from the PGA Tour including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson have shifted to the tour and are doing wonders. The lucrative money-led offers and contracts have lured in many amazing players for Norman’s league. And LIV Golf’s consistent growth is becoming a huge concern for the PGA Tour.
