Most golfers who are Norman’s age are currently playing on the Senior Tour. And among all his fellow golfing buddies including legend Jack Nicklaus, Norman was one of the best. However, despite his professional victories and memorable tournament performances, Norman chose a different path for himself. And here’s what he said about his decision.

“That’s why I never played on the senior tour because my priorities shifted. It was a quantum shift and a huge commitment to say, ‘I get it. It’s time,’” he said. He was around the age of 48 at the time and realized that his days of playing professional golf were over. But unlike his friends on the field, Norman didn’t want to officially announce his retirement in front of the world.
