Paige Spiranac thinks Collin Morikawa is an overrated player! While the golf world has always had nothing but praise for him, the former golfer doesn’t think the same.
“We were touting him as the next Tiger Woods,” Paige said. She explained that the Tour pro had earned his success and fame. However, he lacks consistency.
A comparison made between them revealed that Morikawa has a lot of similarities with Tiger’s career. In their first 60 events, Tiger had 9 wins, whereas Morikawa had won 6 championships. Furthermore, Morikawa and Woods are the only two players to win a major and a World Golf Championship before turning 25.
The former golfer further explained that players like Cameron Smith and Sam Burns are always consistent with their results. Meanwhile, Morikawa is playing but doesn’t provide the same result as in his previous tournament.
In the four PGA starts Morikawa had this year, except for WGC Match Play, he has not won a tournament. On the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the Genesis Invitational, he finished in the Top 5. Meanwhile, he missed the cut at the PLAYERS and finished 68th at the Valspar Championship.
