Tida has become a known figure around the golf world, thanks to her son, Tiger Woods. Tida met Woods’ father, Earl Woods, while he was stationed in Thailand in 1966. The couple got married in 1969 and six years later, Tiger Woods was born.
During an interview with the Thai news service, Tida’s words were misinterpreted by the news broadcast. They declared that Tida wanted Tiger Woods to marry a woman of Thai origin, just like his father.
Tida did say that she would love to insist that Woods would marry a woman from Thai background, however, her statement was exaggerated by the news outlet. She further went on to say, “The dadgum press got that wrong.” She added, “All I said was that it would be nice. So that’s it — no more interviews.”
She used to give plenty of interviews before the one where it all went wrong. She has avoided giving interviews ever since and has made privacy her biggest priority. When the media begins to change the reality of truth, it is unfortunate that even the mother of Tiger Woods becomes a victim of false information.
Woods hasn’t committed yet to play in the US Open in June but he did mention that he would be playing the 150th edition of the Open Championship at St. Andrews, Scotland, where he has won the tournament twice. However, with an injured leg, it’s still unclear if we will see Woods in Great Britain this year
Despite his high anticipated participation in the PGA Championship, the event turned out to be one of his worst performances in a Major. To make matters worse, he had to withdraw from the PGA Championship after soreness in his right leg.
