Tiger Woods Reveals What Makes Him Starstruck About Lionel Messi

The 2022 FIFA World Cup finally concluded with a thrilling finale to crown one of its greatest players, Lionel Messi, with the World Cup trophy. However, before the final match against France, the Argentinian received some words of praise from another great, Tiger Woods. While speaking about his favorite soccer player, Tiger shares why he admires the World Cup winner.

Tiger Woods praises Lionel Messi

Woods is currently prepping to win the 2022 PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie. However, before his impressive first round at Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Woods talked about his favorite soccer player.

"Greatest I have ever seen"

Ahead of the Father-son challenge, the 15-time Major winner was asked by the PGA Tour about who he likes the most in soccer. “He’s the greatest soccer player I’ve ever seen”, said Woods while referring to Lionel Messi.

"What Messi does with the ball is stupid"

The golfer compared the Argentine to other soccer legends such as Pele and Maradona but states none come close to Messi. “What Messi does with the ball, it’s stupid”, said Tiger. He then points out the outstanding dribbling skills of the PSG star. Woods said, “It’s stuck to his foot”

"that left foot of his is…"

Tiger began to chuckle when he remembered all the times Messi embarrassed the goalkeepers. “I mean that left foot of his is…”, giggles the Hall of Famer. “It’s made many goalkeepers look bad”, he ended.

Can Woods win the PNC Championship?

The Woods family head to the final round on Sunday, with only short of two strokes below Justin Thomas and his father. However, the second round of the Father-Son Challenge can surprise many, as the competition is to the utmost level. Nonetheless, hopefully, Tiger wins the silverware on the same evening as his favorite soccer star.
