Shohei Ohtani Joins Just 1 Other MLB Icon in Elite Company With Yet Another Staggering Performance

Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani has been in phenomenal form since the day he joined the team back in 2018. Although the Angels are not in a great position in the AL West, Ohtani is still showing his class. Recently, he joined a former Angels player after creating another milestone.

Ohtani’s MLB journey so far

In 2018, he joined the Angels and in his first year in the MLB, he won the Rookie of the Year award. In 2021, he won the AL MVP award as well. However, he’s yet to win a World Series title, as he’s playing the final year of his contract with the Angels.

Ohtani’s another tremendous season

One of the best 2-way players, Ohtani, also had a fantastic start to this season. He hit 11 home runs and had 80 strikeouts. Despite his team’s poor performance, he is once again producing some MVP-level performances.

Ohtani joined a legendary name

Nolan Ryan, who played for the Angels from 1972 to 1979, had a record-breaking season in 1978. During that season, he had 97 K in 10 starts. This season, Ohtani had 80 K in the first 10 pitching appearances. Certainly, it’s an elite list to be featured.
