“Only Thing I Can Do..”: Homegrown New York Yankees Star Expresses a Wish That Every Fan Would Resonate With

The Yankees are a storied franchise and they have produced some of the greatest ever to play the game over a century of their dominance in the sport. And given this dominance in baseball, almost every aspiring baseballer wishes to don the Pinstripes once in their lifetime. The Yankees centerfielder Harrison Bader was one of those.

Bader wants to sign a contract extension with the Yankees

Harrison Bader is a promising outfielder for the New York Yankees, with a lot of defensive upsides. The Yankees traded for him midway through the 2022 season. Most recently, the outfielder opened up on his free agency while talking to New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

What did Bader say?

“Being born and raised in New York, it’s always been one of my goals to play in a Yankee uniform. Now that I crossed off playing in a Yankees uniform, of course I want to be a Yankee as long as I can be. But I realize, especially being traded last year, that it’s not really up to me. The only thing I can do is go out there and be the best version of myself for this team and every other team.”

Bader - An asset for the Yankees

Harrison Bader will be a big piece for the New York Yankees this season. This off-season he was seen enjoying himself, even taking in an NHL game. But when Spring Training came around, Bader was ready to get to work. He is currently suffering from a left oblique injury. Experts expect him to have a big impact after recovering.
