Over the years, we have seen some amazing races, crashes, and many other things in NASCAR. However, we have also witnessed some bizarre and weird things. We will take a look at 5 weird incidents during NASCAR races. 

Fox on NASCAR

With no fans in the stands during the 2020 season, the only spectator who came to watch the NASCAR race at Darlington Raceway was a fox. 

Lights went out

During Busch Clash practice at Daytona in 2011, a bizarre incident took place on the track, as the lights suddenly went out, causing a red flag.

The big orange incident

During the Xfinity Series qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway in 2004 a giant inflatable orange took over the track and almost completed the qualifying lap all by itself.

The flying shoe incident 


During the Xfinity Series race in Montreal in 2012, a fan threw a shoe on the track. Danica Patrick ran over the shoe as she was leading the race. Although the shoe had nothing to do with it, she finished the race in 27th place.

A bizarre explosion 

During the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, the no.70 car of Derrike Cope exploded bizarrely. Apparently it was due to a tire failure and Cope was alright after the explosion.
