Sometimes, NASCAR races can fall victim to the elements, which can halt the races. Obviously, this can be very tedious. So there are some occasions when they leave the track to stretch their legs, take a bathroom break or run team errands. This very thing happened to Ross Chastain during the 2021 Daytona 500.
Owing to a bit of a delay, he noted that many of his crew members were getting a little hungry. So, Chastain hopped over to the nearest McDonald’s drive-through to pick up meals for his entire team. The then Chip Ganassi Racing team posted a video on Twitter of Chastain playing errand boy.
In the clip, he was shown telling a McDonald’s employee that he raced for the #42 McDonald’s car. Naturally, the employee serving him had a mini freak out while he ordered six meals for his team and a hot fudge sundae for himself.
