For a while, there has been a lot of debate about the Next Gen NASCAR car. With three drivers out of action due to injuries, many of their contemporaries are growing concerned. Chief among them are veteran racers, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick. Hamlin and Harvick have been very outspoken about the same.
Owing to illegal modifications, NASCAR suspended crew chief Rodney Childers for four races. At the same time, they fined the team and docked 100 points from Kevin Harvick.
At the time, Harvick’s car was in the R&D Center, alongside Martin Truex Jr’s, ahead of Talladega. Of course, conspiracy theories arose, with suggestions that this was revenge for Harvick’s critical comments.
