Ahead of the All-Star Weekend, Kyle Busch Takes a Sly Dig at $116 Million-Worth North Wilkesboro Track

NASCAR

The All-Star weekend is upon us for the 2023 NASCAR season, as we will see a race at the North Wilkesboro Track after a long time, as it went through a $116 million renovation.

Before the race, Richard Childress Racing driver, Austin Dillon had a test drive on the track and his reviews were not that positive. Recently, Kyle Busch took a sly dig at the track while talking about his strategy.

Austin Dillon’s review of North Wilkesboro Track

After testing the track, Dillon emphasized that taking care of the tires will be a top priority. He said, “It’s challenging. It’s got a lot of character to it… It’s rough and gritty. You gotta try and take care of your tires.”

After hearing Dillon’s feedback, Busch said, “I think it’s going to be interesting, for sure. The tire falloff at that race track is by far the worst I think we’ll ever see… So 50 or 60 lap runs on tires that you have to go–I mean that’s a long time anyways, but it’s not quite 100 laps like late model races or modified races that are going to run there next week.”

Busch talks about the strategy

“I think you’re going to have to figure out how hard to push. If you’re a guy upfront, do you push for a little while? If you’re a guy in the back, how much do you ride? Is the field going to catch up and are you going to go a lap down? Things of that nature.”
