Tony Stewart is not particularly fond of Kyle Busch and the two have had their clashes over time.

SHR had the opportunity to sign Kyle Busch when Cole Custer dropped out but they ended up signing Ryan Preece instead.
“Like if I’m Stewart-Haas and I look at this driver change, I don’t understand why you didn’t go after a Kyle Bush. Or I know you were in a unique situation given your contract. But after a Tyler Reddick, like, if you want an ‘A’ guy in your car with this team historically has, i.e. had Kurt Bush. Like, Why are we, why are we in this situation?”
