NASCAR imposing a penalty of $50,000 on Denny Hamlin has gained everyone’s attention. His team driver, Bubba Wallace, was recently asked about his reaction following the incident. Well, his answer is not exactly what Hamlin would have expected.
“It’s the line of showing personality getting misconstrued, going on air and saying admittedly wreck somebody I don’t know, if it’s a personality.”
“I wouldn’t label it as that. [But] Everybody’s unique right? They have their own ways of going about things and handling different situations, everybody’s different, so I like to be different.”
Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft is a partner at the Couch Racer Shop. Following Hamlin’s admission of wrecking Chastain, the shop’s Twitter account took a swipe at the three-time Daytona 500 winner. They tweeted “Teach your kids to lie. It may save them $50,000 later in life. That’s the message.”
