Bubba Wallace’s Crew Chief Blames Chase Elliott for Playoff Distress
NASCAR
Bubba Wallace's crew chief, Bootie Barker III, blames Chase Elliott for the stress that characterized his driver's playoff pursuit.
Passing Chase Elliott Cost Them Good Numbers
Barker believes that passing Chase Elliott has cost them good numbers. He expressed, “Even Watkins Glen would have been better; we got caught by the caution. Because we passed the #9, and then the #9 ran behind us. So, I would have loved that buffer."
4-5 More Points Would Have Made a Difference
Barker continued, "If we could have finished 7th or 8th, it would have given us 4-5 more points, which would have almost locked us in the same points as Daytona. It is funny that those times make such a difference.”
Bubba Wallace is currently in pursuit of a playoff spot in the NASCAR Cup Series. His crew chief believes that passing Chase Elliott has cost them valuable points in their pursuit.
