Bound to stay at home, Chase Elliott virtually joined the broadcasting team of Fox Sports during the race at the Circuit of The Americas. While discussing the race, NASCAR on FOX commentator and former NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer tried to dig up the $400,000 disaster that HMS managed to land itself in recently.
While talking to Elliot, Clint Bowyer glanced over the headset that Chase was wearing. He couldn’t resist saying, “Seeing the headset on you buddy. Why didn’t they pick you to replace that crew chief set on top of that box? I think you might be able to do it.”
“I think that’d probably go as good as you doing it. I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.”
Soon after the penalties were announced, HMS decided to appeal the decision. As per NASCAR on NBC, the formal hearing will take place on March 29 and the appeal will be heard by a three-member National Motorsports Appeals Panel.
