Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Beloved NASCAR Track Under Threat

It seems like Dale Earnhardt Jr’s favorite race track, the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway’s renovation has hit a roadblock.

What happened?

Three neighborhood groups - South Nashville Action People (SNAP), 12South Neighborhood Association and Chestnut Hill Neighborhood Association released a joint statement opposing the track’s renovation.

Why the opposition?

The neighborhood groups are of the opinion that the renovation proposal is an irresponsible use of city funds and would adversely affect the quality of life in the area.

What did Dale say?

"If they run Xfinity Series here, I'll be here. I’ll run once a year. I'll probably do that as long as I can and there should be a few more years of that. Hopefully we can get the Xfinity here soon; the next couple of years because I'd love to come out here and compete."
