Daniel Suarez Remains Silent Despite Trackhouse Owner Justin Marks Reneging on His SVG Promise

Daniel Suarez, a road racing expert, went into the Indy road race as a heavy favorite but fell short. Despite a strong start and a valiant effort from the Mexican along with his boss, Justin Marks’ emphasis on his full-time drivers, the Mexican felt heartbroken as the #99 Chevy just couldn’t gain traction amid minute slips from the team.

Following Shane Van Gisbergen’s domination at Chicago, all eyes were on the Supercar champion as he outclassed his fellow Cup Series drivers to steamroll to an emphatic win. With the NASCAR nation in awe of the Kiwi’s superior road racing capabilities, his Trackhouse Racing boss, Justin Marks had to reiterate his stance on his full-time drivers – Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez.

While Ross Chastain secured a playoff berth with an impressive win at Nashville, his teammate, Daniel Suarez still is struggling to make the playoff cutline. Heading into the Indy road course, Suarez was confident about turning his 2023 seasons around, eyeing a win and comfortably cruising his way into the playoffs.

Suarez's bittersweet Indy adventure

 However, despite a strong start being at the front of the pack, Suarez just couldn’t catch up to the race winner, Michael McDowell. Instead, he had to be content with a 3rd place finish. This decent finish pushed him to the 17th spot in the rankings. But what added more pressure to the driver was a sloppy pit stop from his team with just 35 laps to go.
