Despite it being years since her retirement, ex-Cup Series driver Danica Patrick has made sure to look after her health and remain athletic. However, despite her being perfectly fit, being an athlete makes her prone to serious injuries. This is exactly what happened to the former IndyCar and NASCAR driver.
Recently, Patrick shared a photo on Instagram, wherein she is seen sitting beside her pet holding a physical therapy device. She wrote, “Just using some @erchonia tech to try and heal what might be a torn ACL. Trying to promote healing and pain reduction.”
An ACL injury happens when the ligament connecting your thigh bone to your shinbone tears or sprains. This injury is common in the sports world and is feared by several athletes.
The symptoms of this injury often include a popping sound, swelling, instability, and pain when bearing weight. The commonly advised treatment involves rest, exercises, and sometimes even surgery.
