An on-track clash between rookie Nick Sanchez and veteran Matt Crafton during the 93rd lap led to a massive multi-car wreck, altering the course of the race. The tension didn't end on the track, however, as it escalated into a physical altercation off-track.

Post-race, Crafton confronted Sanchez, leading to a violent scuffle. Sanchez was left bloodied, and both drivers exchanged heated words. Sanchez threatened, “I’m gonna fu**ing kill you in Homestead. You f**ked with the wrong guy, motherf*er.” Crafton retorted, “I’ll whip your a, I got you at Homestead, bi**h.”
