Of all the words you can choose to describe the Kansas win of Bubba Wallace, perhaps ‘dominating’ fits the best. This was also something reflected in his spotter, Freddie Kraft’s response to a question on the Door Bumper Clear podcast. The spotter was asked to briefly describe the race for their team, to which he bluntly but aptly said, “We kicked their a**.”
“The one thing I took away from yesterday’s race was the confidence Bubba had. We knew we were really fast the first race at Kansas and obviously, Kurt (Busch) won, our car was just as good,” he said. “But Bubba’s confidence was all day.”
“He literally said in the middle of the race, ‘I just need to bust this bubble to get from 7th to 5th and once I get to 5th I’m gonna get the lead, and once I get the lead, this race is over.'”
