William Byron, the 25-year-old Hendrick Motorsport driver has gained a lot of fans this past week after clinching his 3rd victory of the season at Darlington Raceway.
With All-Star weekend nearing, will HMS boss, Rick Hendrick allow Byron to take part in the race? The young prodigy answered this question recently.
HMS and their injury concerns
Earlier, Chase Elliott suffered an injury and is sidelined at the moment. They replaced him with Josh Berry, who is currently driving the #9 car. Then, Alex Bowman also suffered an injury, which forced him out as well. On the other hand, Kyle Larson is crashing on the track pretty often, which is concerning for HMS.
Byron qualified for the All-Star Race
After clinching victory at Darlington Raceway, Byron got qualified for the All-Star race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Dale Earnhardt Jr. helped the track to get back on track. Moreover, the purse for the All-Star race is around $3,563,159.
With the team suffering from so many injuries, there was a question mark over Byron’s participation in the All-Star race. In the ‘Rubbin Is Racing’ podcast, Byron revealed, “I think he [Rick] is good with it. You know I think I haven’t ever been in any dirt cars. I think, there is a risk getting into any race car, you might crash into things and hurt yourself.”
