How SHR's tribute to Kevin Harvick backfired

NASCAR

Kevin Harvick is retiring from NASCAR after a brilliant career. But his team's latest gesture to honor him did not impress the fans.

A legendary driver

Kevin Harvick has been racing in NASCAR for 23 years, winning 60 races and a championship. He has also driven more than 308,000 miles, ranking fifth all time. He is known for his humor, passion, and skill.

A special scheme

To celebrate Harvick's achievements, his team SHR and sponsor Mobil 1 designed a new paint scheme for his car. It featured the number 308,238 on the bumper, representing his mileage. The scheme was unveiled at Las Vegas, where Harvick had his first win.

A fan backlash

However, many fans were not happy with the scheme. They criticized it for being bland, boring, and ugly. They said it did not reflect Harvick's personality or legacy. Some even called it "criminal" and "disrespectful". They wished for a better tribute to their hero.
