Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott has been one of the more successful drivers in road course racing. Often dubbed as the road course king, last year was disappointing for him and the fans as he missed out on winning all the road course races.
During an interview with the Garage Guys, Chase said, “I feel like we had had a couple of pretty good shots at it. I mean, the one that stands out most recently was the roval. I mean, I felt like…” The host interjected and said, “a pierce in the soul.”
“Yeah, that one was a bummer, man. I thought we did everything. I thought we did everything right. To be honest. I mean, the strategy was really good. We were able to get the lead there was controlling the end of the race. And you know, had had those late cautions that always put you in a tough spot as to what to do.”
Chase got in the lead only for a brief while before being spun around on the grass, plunging down the order and out of contention.
