Kyle Busch is currently enjoying life as a Chevrolet driver. In a conversation with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Busch spoke about his former team and his old teammates. The #8 driver was talking about getting drafting aid from fellow Chevy drivers. This was as opposed to when he was with Toyota, and ex-teammate Denny Hamlin was often uncooperative.
“I was used to getting my feelings hurt with Denny. He never would stay. Denny’s like a kid that sees a squirrel. Like, ‘Squirrel! Squirrel!’. He’s always heading in different directions so it’s hard to keep him under wraps and keep him in line.”
“But, he’s successful at it. I give him credit that he’s successful at that. I have not figured out how to be successful at chasing squirrels, so I got to work on that.”
At Auto Club 400, not only did he take the chequered flag, but with that, he also broke two records. This past Sunday’s victory, Busch has now won a Cup Series race in 19 consecutive seasons. The tie that he had was with none other than Richard Petty.
