Kyle Busch Dissects Every Flaw in NASCAR’s Big Venture Coming Next Week
Next week, fans will witness the much-awaited Chicago Street Race in Illinois. NASCAR invested massively in this race, as it could become one of the most-watched races of the season.
Meanwhile, many drivers have already complained about this race and the track in particular. Earlier, Ryan Blaney criticized the track; now, Kyle Busch is the latest to criticize it.
The much-awaited Chicago Street Race
On the 1st and 2nd of July, the streets of Chicago will be buzzing. Last year, NASCAR made a 3 race deal with Chicago Street Race. They have also invested nearly $50 million in this project and expectations are certainly high. The 2.14-mile track will take drivers through Michigan Avenue, Lake Shore Drive, around Grant Park, and South Columbus Avenue. However, many drivers pointed out some major flaws in the track.
Ryan Blaney’s comments about the Chicago track
Speaking about the Chicago track, the Team Penske driver said, “The only thing I would like to see different is some runoffs in those 90-degree corners, if you overshoot one you have a kind of a bailout place. So I think you’ll see guys kind of hesitate at some of those corners to begin with, but once you get more confident in it, you’ll be going pretty good.”
Speaking about the layout of the track, Busch said, “It’s really rough. It’s bumpy. It’s slippery. There’s some corners that are very challenging.. some blind ones at that… When you’re going around the Bean on the left-hander, that’s really, really slippery and there’s a huge bump going through (turn) nine before you get into (turn) 10… Survival…it’s going to be a survival race.”
