During practice, Busch crashed into the wall, which became a huge setback for him during qualifying. Later, in qualifying he spun out once again after losing traction. The two incidents could demoralize Busch for the main race, which was postponed due to heavy rain.

Busch talked about the regular season championship

“Seven weeks ago, we weren’t looking too good, but we have made some really good headway in the last seven weeks of being able to work our way back into the points standings and get ourselves closer to that front. I was doing a point study earlier this week and we are 120 playoff points or stage points less than William Byron and if I had half of that I would be leading the points by 20.”
