Kyle Busch, the NASCAR veteran, has been in the news for his switch from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing. Since joining RCR, Busch has already won three races and seems to be taking a dig at his former employer.
Busch's Performance with RCR
In 2023, Busch has participated in 26 races in the Cup Series and has won 3 of them. He also has 8 top-five finishes and 14 top-ten finishes, making him a strong contender for the last 16 of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series.
Busch's Disappointment with JGR
In contrast, Busch's final year at Joe Gibbs Racing in 2022 was lackluster, with only one win in 36 races. In a recent interview, Busch said, "I should have done this a long time ago," referring to his switch to RCR.
Despite his better performance this season, some insiders predict that Busch may not do well in the upcoming playoffs. NASCAR journalist Brad Gillie said that Busch has been weak in the last few races and predicted other drivers like Ross Chastain to do better than him at Darlington.
