In his relentless pursuit of victory, Larson led the race with an impressive 96 laps. However, a momentary lapse in judgment during the 213th lap changed the course of the race.

The Pit Stop Fiasco

As both drivers headed for a pit stop, Kyle attempted to close the gap on Blaney. Ignoring his spotter Tyler Monn's advice to "Do not speed here", Larson ended up colliding with sand barrels barriers.

The incident resulted in severe damage to the #5 HMS car, forcing Kyle to withdraw from the race. Despite the unfortunate event, Larson quickly acknowledged his mistake, demonstrating his sportsmanship.
